Billings Repeats as IFL Champions

July 17, 2010 -
The Billings Outlaws won their second consecutive United Bowl on Saturday night by defeating the Sioux Falls Storm by a score of 43-34.  The Outlaws finished the season with a record of 16-2 with their losses coming to Sioux Falls and Fairbanks during the regular season.  Sioux Falls finshed with a record of 14-4 with one of those victories coming over Wichita last week in the United Conference title game.

Billings outgained Sioux Falls by just 16 yards in the game and Sioux Falls only committed one turnover while Billings committed two.  The Outlaw defense turned the Storm over three times on downs including a key goal line stand with under two minutes to play in the 4th quarter.

Billings wide receiver Tim Brown was a key difference maker in the game.  Brown led all players with eight receptions for 47 yards and one touchdown.  Brown also added a 45-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the first quarter.  Billings quarterback Chris Dixon was named game MVP as he went 17-of-25 passing for 153 yards and two touchdowns.  Dixon also led all players with 52 yards rushing.

Sioux Falls was led by quarterback Terrance Bryant who went 16-of-22 passing for 139 yards and one touchdown.  Wide receiver James Terry led the team in rushing with 39 yards.  He also caught five passes for 55 yards and a touchdown.

Billings has never lost a postseason game at home as they move their record to 12-0 all-time on their home turf in the playoffs.
